Social media users have allegedly viewed a video of the incident, in which Varinder Singh is seen fainting while on the phone with another sportsmen. Others hurried to help him as soon as he fell.

The 54-year-old Singh from Jalandhar reportedly was present at the stadium to take part in the third season of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan.
The athlete who passed away had a daughter, a son, and a wife. His daughter is studying medicine overseas, and his son works as an engineer in Jalandhar. To carry out his final rites, his family has returned to Jalandhar after Varinder died due to a heart attack while talking on the phone.

Athlete Varinder Singh, 54, passed away at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana on Monday due to a heart attack. He was a Jalandhar native. While he was on the phone, he passed out after experiencing an unexpected heart attack.
Every athlete in at the stadium hurried to his aid, but sadly, by the time help got there, he had already died. Varinder Singh participated in competitions the previous year and was an active athlete.
Varinder finished his competition around 3 p.m. and was observing others when he abruptly passed out at 5:30 p.m., according to his coach Bikramjit Singh. He was promptly taken to the hospital by an on-site medical team, but upon arrival, he was sadly pronounced dead.
Athletics, baseball, kickboxing, and lawn tennis are among the multisport events that make up Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan. It began Monday in five areas and will be finished by November 9. Competitions for this multisport event take place at a number of locations, such as Harvest Lawn Tennis Academy in Jassowal, Government Girls School Gill, Multipurpose Hall, and Guru Nanak Stadium.
Players are being accommodated at several schools and universities to ensure the competition runs well, and the officials are lodging at Parker House and Kairon Kisan Ghar. To transport players between their lodging and the game locations, sufficient transportation has been set up by the organisers.
