During a raid, ANIF officials discovered multiple CDs documenting Baltasar Engonga’s s*xual relations with prominent women. The women surprisingly include his brother’s wife, the president’s cousin and sister, the Director General of Police’s wife, as well as the wives of over 20 ministers. Officials found the s*x tapes in Baltasar Engonga’s personal office, and reports claim that all videos were taken with consent.

Meanwhile, a video of one of the woman said to be involved in the scandal has gone viral on Twitter/X. The video shows a man confronting his wife with video evidence, footage which shows her having s*x with ANIF General Baltasar.
Local media site Ahora EG initially reported the controversy, calling it one of the most important days in the nation’s modern history. It has since gone viral online, sparking all kinds of uproar and backlash on social media.
The official report stated:
Baltasar Ebang Engonga is said to have filmed these scenes with the consent of the women themselves, which exonerates him from a possible crime of violation of integrity. In the videos, he is seen having unprotected sex with several women, including those married to powerful and well-known people in the country, but also with the most “diva and influential” single women in Equatorial Guinea. Some scenes take place in hotel rooms, houses, even in the protagonist’s office at the Ministry of Finance.”
As of now, the investigations are still ongoing, and speculations state that more officials could get implicated over time.
Baltasar Ebang Engonga bio
Baltasar Ebang Engonga, or “Bello”, is the son of Baltasar Engonga Edjo, who is the head of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) commission. He is also a nephew of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. He is currently 54-years-old, and serves as the Director General of ANIF, Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency.
Despite his position and power, Engonga came under fire for making questionable transactions from public accounts. He was accused of making transactions from Equatorial Guinea to private accounts across the Cayman Islands. As a result, Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, started looking into these public funds transfers back in October. This started the chain of investigations that eventually led to the videos.

Government set to take prompt action
Following the recent scandal, the government is all set to take prompt action against such acts. In response to the scandal, Equatorial Guinea government has gone on to suspend all officials that engaged in s*xual activity within ministry offices. Vice President Teodoro Nguema announced that such acts are against the nation’s public ethics law and code of conduct. He emphasised the government’s “zero tolerance” approach for conduct.
Nzang Nguema, who is the country’s attorney general, has called on victims of s*xual abuse to come forward. He also stated:
The possibility of a contagious disease being spread through these s*xual interactions makes the situation even more critical.”
Meanwhile, the country’s chief prosecutor, Anatolio Nzang Nguema stated that if medical examinations revealed Ebang Engonga of being “infected with a s*xually transmitted disease” he could face prosecution for committing an offence against “public health.”
Unsurprisingly, the whole incident involving has disrupted the whole country. It has affected the flow of internet traffic and authorities are taking measures to curb the spread of the s*x tapes. Officials speculate that more videos of other individuals, including both men and women, could release in the next few days.
