Ballon d’Or 2024 host Sandy Heribert is married to husband, French chef Charles Frebraud

Last Monday, fans from all over the world watched the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony from Paris, France with Rodri winning the men’s award.

At the star-studded event, the world’s top male and female football players from the previous season received their awards, along with a number of other honours to recognize the best players in the sport in 2023–2024.

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and sportscaster Sandy Heribert hosted the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony’s entire evening, and as has become customary in recent years, a number of visitors delivered the various trophies on stage.

40-year-old Sandy Heribert was born in November 1983 in Northern Paris. She is 5ft 7in tall. Heribert is the daughter of an English mother and a French Belgian father. Sandy is married to French chef Charles Frebraud who had been in a relationship for several years and she welcomed her daughter in 2021. He usually accompanies her to all her events.

Taking to social media in September 2023, the presenter shared a sweet snap from the couple’s nuptials and wrote: ”The Febraud’s ~ 15/09/2023.”

She was a student at Notre-Dame de Bury Lycée. She has a marketing master’s degree. She also has a master’s degree in journalism from CELSA Paris and a master’s degree in media marketing from Institut supérieur du commerce de Paris.

She was motivated to become a journalist after seeing the renowned Martine Laroche-Joubert’s coverage of the Gulf War.

Sandy Heribert career

French journalist and broadcaster Sandy Heribert is mostly employed by the public broadcaster France 2 and the sports magazine and television station L’Equipe. She co-hosted the Ballon d’Or with former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba in 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024.

She started working as a freelancer in 2015. She covered and conducted interviews during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro while working for many French media agencies. She was immediately given a position to carry commentary in French.

After covering the 2018 Dakar Rally in January, Heribert received an offer from L’ensemble Media to serve as the editor-in-chief of a brand-new automotive publication.

She co-hosted the 2019 Ballon d’Or ceremony with former Ivorian football player Didier Drogba in December 2019. She took part in the Fort Boyard game show, which was aired on France 2 in September 2019.

She served as a stand-in presenter for a few rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Cup coverage on Eurosport in 2022.
