A violent viral video purportedly depicts Dolphin Ayan, a transgender influencer from Pakistan, being forced to undress and dance while being detained at gunpoint. In late October 2024, it was released online, causing user reactions and virality. During the same period, word of the incident circulated on social media platforms including TikTok and X, where Ayan notably has the highest following.

Similar to the nation’s alleged “Beela violence,” the transphobic hate crime incited indignation in Ayan’s hometown of Peshawar and online, where numerous users shared the hashtag “#JusticeForDolphinAyan” and the motto “Justice for Dolphin Ayan.” Ayan quickly replied to the footage by denouncing her assailant in an Instagram Reel.
