The first part of the chapter begins with Balsamilco’s plan to assault Halkenburg using the biological gas, TSK-17. But he sees Vict, one of Benjamin’s guards, who he thought was dead. He was shaken by this, and Halekenburg crept up behind him and aimed his Nen arrow at him while they were exchanging sign language.
After learning that the trial has been postponed, Benjamin makes the connection that Balsamilco was attacked with the arrow and may have been controlled. He hears a rumbling. He advised him not to return until he had slain Halkenburg in order to determine whether he was indeed under the spell of another person.
