On Tuesday, October 15, the family of 38-year-old Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos confirmed his passing but a cause of death is yet to be revealed.
Walter Vasconcelos Jr., Vasconcelos’ uncle revealed, “Very sad your farewell, Guilherme Vasconcelos! And so far from us in the USA. My dear nephew, my consecrated godson, father of little Naomi, much loved son of my sister Elisabete Vasconcelos, partner of his brothers, Breno and Isabela and our extended family who today mourn his premature departure.”
Brazilian MMA fighter Guilherme Gomes Vasconcelos, known as “Guilherme Bomba”, who had a brief relationship with Demi Lovato, was found dead in Los Angeles on Tuesday, aged 38.

Known by his nickname, “Bomba,” the mixed martial artist, age 38 Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos appeared on several MMA platforms during his career. In addition to being a former UFC and TUF fighter, he described himself as a “fourth degree black belt, professor, fighter, athlete, and artist” in his Instagram bio.
He took place in 16 bouts in the UFC and Bellator and began his MMA career in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with a second-round rear-naked choke victory over veteran Wendell Oliveira. He joined The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 in 2014 after a win over Elizeu Zaleski and on the show, Vasconcelos won one and lost one fight. His one UFC defeat was by decision to Luke Zachrich in July 2014 and he won four of his next five bouts, which earned him a contract with Bellator.
He ended his MMA career in 2019 with a record of three wins in six in Bellator.
He was also a national and international Jiu Jitsu champion. In the Instagram comments area of the Brazilian professional athlete’s photos, fans and followers expressed their sorrow at his passing. He last posted a picture of a Jiu Jitsu studio on Monday, October 14, as part of a story.
Vasconcelos gained notoriety as a professional fighter and athlete, but he also gained notoriety during his brief relationship with 32-year-old Lovato in 2017. After dating for a few months, the couple ended their relationship in May of that year.
