However, British daredevil, age 26 Lewis’ family is now inconsolable. His partner Savannah Parker described his death as “a nightmare” on social media. Clifford Stevenson, 70, Lewis’s grandfather from Derby mentioned that they all attempted to dissuade him from doing it.

He died while illegally scaling the 630ft (192m) high Castilla-La Mancha Bridge in Talavera de la Reina early on Sunday morning.

He and a friend had been climbing the structure without a harness for a social media video with the practice known โ€˜free-solo climbingโ€™ or โ€˜builderingโ€™.

โ€œIt’s 5am and I haven’t eaten or slept,โ€Lewis’ girlfriend wrote online. โ€œSomeone tell me this is a nightmare. I feel violently sick at the fact you’re not coming back. Please come back. Answer the phone.โ€ Lewis’ Instagram has now been deactivated.

He was the way he was, even though his family was constantly trying to persuade him out of things. He enjoyed doing it and always felt certain that everything would work out. His motivation for the stunts was personal enjoyment. He was an explorer and received no compensation for it.

On Instagram, Lewis Stevenson shared photos and videos of himself scaling some of the tallest buildings in the world in order to gain followers.

He would engage in rooftopping, a dangerous activity, to ascend the buildings unaided. Images on Stevenson’s social media pages feature him perched atop a hotel roof in Mexico City, a beam overlooking London, and a tower in New York.

Rooftoppers scale tall buildings, frequently without authorization or protective gear. On social media, enthusiasts share their experiences and frequently amass thousands of followers.

Since rooftopping takes place underground, accurate statistics about the number of deaths related to it are lacking. Nonetheless, there have been some noteworthy deaths, such as the well-known Chinese rooftopper Wu Yongning, who perished in 2017 while dangling from a tower during a live broadcast.

According to CNN affiliate Nine News, an Australian woman died in December 2020 after falling off a cliff while taking a picture at Boroka Lookout, an overhang at the edge of a cliff at Grampians National Park, Victoria state.

Additionally, a French visitor lost his life in November 2019 after plunging from a Thai waterfall while trying to take a photo.
