The alleged video tape of Elif Karaarslan and Orhan Erdemir has gone viral
A fresh controversy has shocked the Turkish Super League. Following the revelation of a private video of them, referees Elif Karaarslan, 24, and Orhan Erdemir, 61, of Istanbul were permanently removed from their positions as referee observers and observers.

Orhan who is currently a referee observer was norn on 29 June 1963 (age 61) in Istanbul, Turkey and was an ex-FIFA referee from 16 Dec 1999 – 12 Oct 2002. His entire career stats can be found here.
Elif Karaarslan has been suspended for 90 days, while Erdemir faces a 45-day suspension.
Erdemir was a FIFA referee between 1999 and 2002 and also took charge of games in Turkey’s Super Lig before becoming an observer of his fellow referees.

The video of Elif Karaarslan and Orhan Erdemir did little more than inflame the proceedings that led to cancellation of their licenses, which was the penalty for both. Elifโs team meanwhile claimed the video was fake, AI generated and said, โA montaged video was published on social media, created entirely through AI from someone elseโs social media account.โ The lawyer added, โTaking into consideration this montage video, created with malicious and deliberate intentions, poses a threat to anyone facing similar accusations in the future.โ
