More than two dozen people in Kanpur have reportedly fallen victim to a bizarre scam, where a fraudulent couple allegedly garnered Rs. 35 crore by promising elderly individuals the chance to become 25 years old again from the age of 60 using an “Israel-made time machine.”

The fraudulent couple has been identified as Rashmi and Rajeev Dubey. They operated a therapy center called ‘Revival World,’ in Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur. As per various reports, Rashmi and Rajeev attracted numerous clients with promises of ‘Oxygen Therapy,’ administrated inside a supposed Israeli time machine as they claimed it would reverse aging and pollution-related skin damage.

Their fake scheme primarily targeted the elderly people, capitalizing on claims that Kanpur’s high pollution level has accelerated again in people. Furthermore, the fraudulent couple offered a solution, claiming that their therapy could restore youthful looks instantly, with their pollution related therapy and reverse aging therapy.

What Did the Victims Say?

As per media reports, ACP Anjali Vishwakarma, revealed that each session in the time cost approximately Rs. 90,000 and it soon evolved into a pyramid scheme. For the unfamiliar, pyramid scheme is a type of scheme where clients could earn discounts by referring others, thus expanding the fraudulent couple’s clientele.

A victim, identified as Renu Singh Chandel, who came forward and filed a complaint against Rashmi and Rajeev Dubey, revealed that she was promised a free session if she referred others and she had brought many people for the treatment.

As per the information provided by Kanpur police, the fraudulent couple swindled a total of Rs. 35 crore from their victims. In addition, the authorities also revealed that, so far, they have registered 25 cases, and more are expected to surface.

Rajeev Kumar Dubey and Rashmi charged Rs 6,000 for 10 sessions and Rs 90,000 for a three-year reward system. Discounts were also offered for those who referred other people to the program.

Meanwhile, media reports claim that investigators are currently working to identify other victims, while Rajeev and Rashmi remain at large. As per counts given by the authorities, they have alerted the airport to prevent any possible escape of the couple from the country.
