This occurred last week, when Sloan, seated in the classroom, lunged at Daffron and stabbed her twice and Sloan selected Daffron from among two potential victims, believing her to be an easier attack.

Daffron was rushed to hospital, where she underwent surgery for non-life-threatening injuries and is now recovering.

Age 19 Sloan who is an Arizona State University black student has admitted that she “came to class to hurt somebody” and had been planning the attack since the previous night prior, and the planning included placing the knife that she used in her backpack.

She told the cops she knew the victim’s first name and had shared only one class with her this semester and was arrested on the assault charge and disorderly conduct with a weapon after she stabbed fellow student Mara.

“Kaci Sloan was immediately detained and arrested on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder; aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; interfering with an educational institution; and disorderly conduct. She is being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond,” an ASU spokesperson said.

“I just did what needed to be done and I think everybody has the capacity to be able to do that,” Matthew McCormick, the classmate said.

McCormick is a student at ASU and a veteran of the Navy. During his time at ASU, he and Daffron took a number of classes together.

He claimed that last Thursday, he had just entered his microeconomics class and had put his belongings down next to Daffron when he saw another student lunge at her.

Arizona State University (ASU) sophomore Matthew McCormick stepped in when a 19-year-old student allegedly started stabbing a classmate on September 19. According to media reports, McCormick’s actions in stopping the alleged attack likely prevented Mara Daffron from suffering more injuries. The authorities have identified Kaci Sloan, a 19-year-old student, as the culprit.

According to court records, Sloan picked the victim because she seemed like a “easier target.”

After being brought to the hospital, Mara Daffron required surgery to treat wounds on her tricep and ribcage region. She had damage to her spleen as well. After a successful procedure, Mara is recuperating at home. McCormick informed the media that everyone missed her and that he was hoping she would return to class.

In relation to the student stabbing on campus on September 19, ASU Police filed a complaint with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, a representative for the university told the Daily Caller. On suspicion of first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, interference with an educational institution, and disorderly conduct, Kaci Sloan was arrested right away.
