A key suspect has been identified by the Bengaluru Police in the horrific murder of a 29-year-old lady Mahalakshmi, whose body was dismembered into 59 parts and kept in a refrigerator by Mukti Ranjan Roy

The investigation into the horrific murder of 29-year-old saleswoman Mahalakshmi, whose body was discovered on September 21st, Malleshwaram, cut into 21 pieces and stored in a refrigerator, has advanced significantly for the Bengaluru Police. As to the reports, Mukti Ranjan Roy, a colleague of Mahalakshmi, has been designated as the primary suspect in the case.

One of Mahalakshmi’s coworkers is the primary suspect, as per media reports. The story cited sources and stated that “the man, who they (police) identified as Mukti, and Mahalakshmi were colleagues.”


โ€œMukti had expressed his opposition to Mahalakshmiโ€™s closeness with another man,โ€ it added.

The police have identified Mukti Ranjan Roy as the primary suspect in the gruesome murder of Mahalakshmi, a Nepalese woman residing in Vyalikaval. Mukti who worked alongside Mahalakshmi at a fashion factory killed her following a heated dispute over their romantic relationship.

Originally from Odisha, Mukti Ranjan had settled in the Hebbagodi area and commuted daily to a fashion store in Malleswaram, where Mahalakshmi was also employed with him fleeing to West Bengal after talking to his brother post murdering age 29 Mahalakshmi. The police are still searching for Mukti who has switched off his phone.

Mahalakshmi had relocated to Bengaluru nine months prior, leaving her husband with whom she has a four year daughter due to family issues. Initially working in a sales shop, she became close to Mukti at the fashion factory but Mahalakshmi the began a new romantic involvement, which outraged Mukti with him murdering her and cutting her in 59 pieces.

The divorced husband of Mahalakshmi hinted on Sunday that he thought a man named Ashraf she knew might be involved. On Saturday, Mahalakshmi’s mother and older sister discovered her dead in her Vyalikaval home, covered in maggots and shoved into a refrigerator.

Mukti’s phone was turned off and that the police were trying to find him close to the border between West Bengal and Odisha, as per media reports.

Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara had earlier on Wednesday stated that teams had been dispatched to Odisha to apprehend the culprit, who is believed to have been involved in the gruesome death of a 29-year-old lady.

โ€œWe have taken the case very seriously, as the murder had shaken the entire Bengaluru,โ€ Parameshwara said.

Mahalakshmiโ€™s mother, Meena Rana revealed that she was told by the building owner that the house had an unpleasant stench coming from it. Upon arriving and opening the door, she discovered Mahalakshmi’s body had been hacked to pieces. It was during the Rakshabandhan celebration when she last saw her. She turned off her phone after that.

Mahalakshmi’s post-mortem report

The post-mortem report has shown that body of Mahalakshmi was cut into 59 pieces, samples of her intestines are sent for toxicology testing to ascertain whether she had been poisoned before her death. Experts in forensics are also examining fingerprints discovered on the fridge.
