AR Dairy Food Private Limited company is happy to welcome any inspection to support their assertion that their ghee is completely uncontaminated. For the unversed, the Telugu Desam Party, on Thursday, cited a lab report, that detected the presence of “beef tallow”, “pig lard” and “fish oil” in the renowned Tirupati laddus offered to devotees at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh.

Established in 1995, AR Dairy Food Private Limited is a dairy firm situated in Tamil Nadu. Rajasekaran R, Suria Prabha R, and Srinivasan SR who are all Hindus serve as the company’s three directors. The Dindigul-based company made it clear that their ghee supply to the Tirumala shrine was limited to the months of June and July. They made sure that every delivery came with lab reports attesting to the ghee’s quality.


A number of milk providers, such as Amul, have refuted claims that the milk contains any contaminants.

The issue sparked a political controversy when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu accused the erstwhile YSRCP government of being the ones who initiated the Tirupati laddu’s use of pig fat. Union Food Minister Prahlad Joshi has requested an investigation into the subject.

Response from the company

โ€œThere is no possibility of the presence of animal fat in the ghee,โ€ the director of the company Rajasekaran R said.

He added that they are using only cow milk for their ghee. Each and every batch is tested, and they have laboratory reports. The ghee they produce is dispatched only after proper testing.


As per the company, in their more than 25 years of producing ghee, they have never had any complaints or problems with the product’s quality.
