A seasoned journalist, Andy Stevenson, who was born without arms, currently works for the BBC in Paris, while covering the Olympic Games. One of the events he has been covering these days is boxing, which has sparked some unkind and cruel comments online due to his disability.

One such social media user took to X and penned, “Anyone watch the boxing on BBC? The interviewer has no arms… talking about boxing. You can’t make this sh*t up.”

Another one added, “One of the BBC’s boxing analysts literally has no arms. I’m not even joking.” Though, various users came in response to defend the journalist, many were seen taking jab at him while calling it dark humor.

However, now, Andy, has came forward as he released his response to these cruel comments!

What Did Andy Stevenson Say?

Taking the matter to X, Andy Stevenson, shared a picture of himself covering boxing alongside retired boxer Nicola Adams. He captioned the post, “The people amused/shocked/appalled that the BBC would hire a boxing reporter with no arms are going to fall off their sofas when they hear I also do golf, tennis, snooker, etc.”

He further added, “PS I also have a prosthetic leg and report on football.”

Andy’s witty reply has quickly garnered everyone’s attention as many came in to his support and are encouraging him to “Keep doing, what you’re doing.”
