Summer Ann McIntosh is a Canadian competitive swimmer who was born on August 18, 2006 in Toronto, Canada. McIntosh was born to parents Greg McIntosh and Jill Horstead, who is a former Canadian Olympic team swimmer. She has an older sister named Brooke, who is also a competitive pair skater. McIntosh currently studies and trains in Sarasota, Florida. Summer is a two-time Olympic champion, four-time World Aquatics champion, as well as a two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist.

Career and achievements
Summer McIntosh first gained recognition at the age of 14 after competing as the youngest member of the Canadian team for the 2020 Summer Olympics. She came close to winning a medal, achieving a fourth-place finish in the 400-metre freestyle. The following year she became the youngest swimmer to win the World Aquatics in over a decade. She also became the first Canadian to win two gold medals at a single World Championships.
Back in March and April 2023, she set her first and second world records in a span of five days. She set the records in the 400-metre freestyle and 400 individual medley events. Following her recent performance at the 2024 Summer Olympics Time dubbed it the “Summer of Summer”. McIntosh won three individual medals (two gold and one silver). McIntosh has so far broken over 50 age group national swimming records and currently holds the world record in the women’s long course 400m.
