Reports suggest that, Andreas Georgson was hired by Jason Wilcox at Southampton in August 2023, when Wilcox was the club’s director of football.
The now-United technical director praised Georgson’s expertise, saying, “Andreas has an excellent understanding of the game model we’re building here.”
Georgson has previously reflected on how he could have improved his approach while at Arsenal, which he may apply in his role at Old Trafford.
“If I look back at the first couple of months (at Arsenal), I got it wrong. That affected our quality on the attacking side (with set pieces). I came in with, I think, too big a level of detail in the set-piece process. In the beginning, it was impossible for the players to take it all in.”
Over the years, Manchester United have been struggling at set pieces comparing to the constant threats they used to be. Adding, Andreas Georgson, in the club might bring some hope for the Red Devils.
