An NBC video revealed the wreckage of the car crash accident that claimed the life of Minnesota Vikings cornerback Khyree Jackson

Jackson was one of 3 individuals who perished in a three-car collision on Saturday in Maryland. According to authorities, Jackson died at the scene.

For the unversed, reports indicate that the driver of a second vehicle, traveling north, attempted a high-speed lane change, colliding with Jackson’s car and a third vehicle.

The two other occupants of Jackson’s car also died, while no one in the other two cars sustained injuries. In the aftermath of the tragic event, an NBC clip showed the extensive damage to the car, which was split into two halves.

Tributes Poured In

Jackson, who played college football at Fort Scott, Alabama, and Oregon, was selected in the fourth round with the 108th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

Following the news of Jackson’s death, the Minnesota Vikings issued a statement with Head coach Kevin O’Connell expressing that he is “Absolutely crushed by this news.”
Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah also expressed his sorrow in a statement.

“I am heartbroken by the loss of Khyree. As we got to know him throughout the pre-draft process, it was clear the goals Khyree wanted to accomplish both professionally and personally.”

The NFL community mourned Jackson’s death on social media, with numerous touching tributes for the 24-year-old.

What Exactly Happened?

Khyree Jackson, traveling in a Dodge Charger with two former college football players, Isaiah Hazel, 23, and Anthony Lytton, 24, was involved in a tragic accident on Saturday. All three had played for Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The Maryland State Police confirmed the deaths of the athletes. Hazel was driving the vehicle, Jackson was in the front passenger seat, and Lytton was in the backseat.

An another car, traveling at high speed, attempted to change lanes and was struck by another vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and collide with multiple trees.

Jackson and Hazel died at the scene, while Lytton was transported to the hospital, where he later died. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the accident, but no charges have been filed yet.

The trio of Jackson, Hazel, and Lytton had led their high school to multiple state championships, and the organization extended condolences to their families and friends.
