About Luis de La Fuente
For the unfamiliar, Luis de la Fuente Castillo was born on June 21, 1961. Standing at 1.72 m (5 ft 8 in), Fuente is a Spanish football manager and former professional player who played as a left-back.
He is currently the manager of the Spain national team.
He is married to an Andalusian woman from Camas, and together they have three children and one of them, his son Alberto, has followed in his footsteps as he’s an analyst for the youth Spanish football teams.

Luis started working with the Spanish youth teams in 2013, managing the under-19 team to victory in the 2015 European Championship.
He coached the Olympic team to a silver medal at the 2020 games and took over the senior team in 2022, leading them to victory in the 2023 UEFA Nations League.
Managerial Career
He retired from playing in the early 1990s and transitioned into a managerial role.
His first major appointment was with his former team Alavés in 2011, but he was dismissed after recording just 3 wins, 4 draws, and 2 losses.
De la Fuente impressed the RFEF with his tactical acumen and was appointed as Spain’s U18 head coach in 2013.

He led the team to victory in the Under-19 European Championship in 2015 and secured a gold medal in the Under-18 category at the Mediterranean Games in 2018.
Ahead of Spain’s Euro opener, Fuente addressed the media, expressing his focus on leading the team to their fourth European championship.
