Aline Ferreira, 33, had polymethyl methacrylate injected into her buttocks during the procedure at the unlicensed Ame-se clinic in Goiânia on June 23 but the surgery went wrong.
Ferreira suffered a heart arrest last Friday and again on Sunday, according to a report obtained by Correo Brazilenze.
Ferreira’s husband told the Brazilian news agency G1 that she was initially recovering when she returned to their Brasilia home the day of the procedure. But when she got a fever the next day, things started to become worse for her.
The biological scientist who owns the facility and carried out the treatment, Grazielly da Silva, was approached by Aline Ferreira’s husband. Ferreira’s symptoms were explained to him as typical, and it was advised that she take medication for her fever.

She was brought to the Asa Norte Regional Hospital, where she was admitted and kept until Saturday. After that, she was sent to an Asa Sul private hospital.
Ferreira’s family reportedly claimed that da Silva had injected 30 ml of polymethyl methacrylate into each of her buttocks, according to the Metropoles news outlet.
When Da Silva visited Ferreira in the hospital, she denied the family’s allegations, stating that she had simply used a biostimulator and speculating that the infection might have been brought on by the bed linens at Ferreira’s house.
The National Health Surveillance Agency of Brazil recommends that injectable gel polymethyl methacrylate be used only to treat serious disorders that cause deformities to the body, such as polio.
Local media reports state that Da Silva was taken into custody on Tuesday as part of an investigation into offenses against consumer relations. Silva’s clinic was closed, according to the Goiás Civil Police, since it lacked a health license and was not registered with the Goiás Regional Council of Biomedicine.
