Mattia Zaccagni is an Italian professional footballer who was born on June 16, 1995 in Cesena, Italy. He primarily plays as a left winger/attacking midfielder for Serie A club Lazio and the Italy national football team. Although he initially started out his career as a central midfielder, he has since converted into a goalscoring winger at Lazio.
According to reports, Zaccagni almost missed out on making the Euro 2024 squad as Orsolini was the only left-footed attacker in the squad. However, following a poor performance in the final preparation fixture against Turkey Spalletti decided to go with Zaccagni instead. Zaccagni started out his football career with AC Bellaria Igea Marina in the fourth tier of Italian football around 2012. However, he spent the next few seasons in the lower leagues on loan at Citadella and Venezia.
