After losing in the semi-finals of the women’s singles in the India Open 2022, PV Sindhu managed to seal her berth in the final of the Syed Modi India International tournament

Asked to pack her bags and exit the bygone showpiece India Open, PV Sindhu made a foray into the ongoing Syed Modi India International Badminton Championship 2022 striving to make amends for her shock exit.

Taking on Kosetskaya in the semi-final on Saturday, PV Sindhu showed why she’s considered as the outright favourite for the event. She cruised to a win in the first set, a comprehensive 21-11 defeat which placed the top seeded Indian on the cusp of the maruqq summit clash.

However, Sindhu didn’t even break into a sweat henceforth with her opponent retiring in the aftermath of the first set to concede the semi-final to the Indian. Sindhu will be facing off against Malvika Bansod come Sunday for a shot at clinching her first BWF title in over two years.
