Arsenal and Everton announced Campbell’s death on Saturday, with the London club stating on X that he had died “after a short illness.”

Arsenal released a statement saying, “Everyone at Arsenal is devastated to hear of the death of our much-loved former player Kevin Campbell, at the age of 54.”

After a brief spell in Turkish soccer, Campbell joined Everton in March 1999.
Everton expressed their condolences in a statement, saying “While today is truly a sad day for football, Kevin will be remembered as a man who brought happiness, laughter and smiles everywhere he went.”

Campbell netted 51 goals in 164 matches for Everton during his six-year spell at the club. He later played for West Bromwich Albion before ending his career at Cardiff.
About Kevin Campbell
Hailing from Lambeth, age 54 Campbell was a standout goalscorer in Arsenal’s youth ranks and made his first-team debut against Everton in 1988.
He served as a co-commentator and had a career as a striker in the Premier League, playing for Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Everton, and West Bromwich Albion.
Additionally, he competed in the Turkish Süper Lig with Trabzonspor and in the Football League representing Arsenal, Leyton Orient, Leicester City, and Cardiff City.
Campbell also represented England U21s at least 4-times, scoring once, and was called up to the England B team in 1991, earning one cap.
Additionally, he also earned the record for most goals scored in the Premier League by an English player. Outside of football, Campbell managed a record label called 2 Wikid. His son, age 24 Tyrese has also pursued a football career, playing for Stoke City. Kevin was unmarried and single. He leaves behind a brother and son.
Tyrese was born on December 28, 1999, in Cheadle Hulme, England.
Kevin Campbell died on June 15, 2024 from a short illness after he was rushed to the hospital. Campbell reportedly suffered a stroke a few months ago before developing kidney failure, with his weight said to have dropped to nine stones. He was hospitalised last month. Kevin had a net worth of $12 million.
