Renowned YouTuber Ben Potter, better known online as Comicstorian, passed away at the age of 40 after what his wife Nathalie Potter described as a “unfortunate accident”.

YouTuber Ben Potter, popularly known as ‘Comicstorian’, died in an accident on Saturday and the news of his demise was confirmed by his wife.
He has been making audio comic books and talking about the Marvel and DC universes for over ten years. A self-described comic book enthusiast, he also hosted two podcasts about comic books, The Weekly Pull and Absolute Comics.
40-year-old Ben Potter was born in February 1977 and passed away on 8 June 2024. The news of Ben’s passing was confirmed by his wife.
In a post on X, Ben Potter’s wife Nathalie Potter wrote, ”Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.”
She also highlighted that one of his biggest achievements was his channel, saying, “Although it is appropriate for us all to take some time to grieve, I know he wouldn’t have wanted it to end this way.” Ben has devoted more than a decade to sharing his passion and admiration for his hobbies.

Ben Potter was a self-described comic book fanatic, a YouTuber with over three million subscribers, and the host of two podcasts devoted to all things comic book related: Absolute Comics and The Weekly Pull.
His passion for comic books led him to pursue a career in audio dramas on YouTube, which helped him gain a lot of new listeners who hadn’t previously been lovers of the genre.
Potter produced explanation films where he delved into the history and origins of many comics, planets, and characters in addition to audio plays.
In addition, he had a rant channel called Benny Has A Problem, a gaming channel called Eligible Monster Gaming, a manga channel called Mangastorian, and a vlog named after himself.
Just three days after it was uploaded, Potter’s most recent video has received over 51,000 views and nearly 4,000 comments, the majority of which are condolences and gratitude for all that the YouTuber has done for comics and the fans of them.
A number of his admirers paid tribute to him on social media, sharing their thoughts about how Comicstorian impacted their life.
One user wrote, ”Incredibly heartbreaking, Comicstorian was an incredible YouTuber that pioneered so much and got so many people into reading comics. Devastating news. Rest in peace.”
