Watch Ex-NBA Player Clarence Sonny Weems Called “Nig*er” And Asked To Leave China During CBA Game

A video of ex-NBA and current CBA player Sonny Weems being racially abused and called a nig*ar in China has emerged on social media platforms

For a country which managed to censor almost everything transpiring in the shackles of the Communist Party, China hasn’t managed to do so well when it comes to the abhorrent abuse ex-NBA player Sonny Weems was subjected to. Video of the player being belittled by Chinese fans during a CBA game has gone viral on social media platforms.

Video Emerges Of Clarence Sonny Weems Being Racially Abused During CBA Game In China

The video shows Weems and another Sian player bickering during the showdown ensuing which both were ejected from the affair. As Weems was making his way off the court, fans at the arena started directing chants of “nig*er” at him as they told him to leave China.

Things didn’t stop there though with the vociferous chants continuing as he Weems was getting off the team bus. Given that this kind of tirade was sent down the way of a player the stature of Weems makes for concerning viewing with him having won the Finals MVP in 2020 after averaging 34.7 points in a 2-1 series win against Liaoning Flying Leopards.

Weems plays for the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association, a team which which he has won three successive titles from 2019-2021. Clarence Sonny Weems had played college basketball for the University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith and was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the 2008 NBA draft

He also played for the Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA.
