According to the media reports, the body of a British kayaker Bren Orton who vanished in Switzerland has been located. It happens two weeks after Bren Orton was last seen on the Melezza River in Switzerland’s Ticino region. The Warrington-born man, 29, is said to have been pulled into the ocean by breaking waves and never came to the surface.

A post from his sponsor, Pyranha Kayak, said: “It is with immense sadness that we announce that our friend and ambassador Bren Orton is no longer with us.
“It has been reported that Bren’s body was recovered yesterday in Lago Maggiore, Italy, following a tragic accident on the nearby river Melezza on May 16.”
A former St Gregory’s Catholic High School, Bren was reported missing on May 16 and it is understood he became trapped in the water and did not resurface.

The location of Bren Orton and his recovery were described by a spokesman for the Swiss police. The lifeless body of Bren Orton who vanished on May 16 while kayaking in the Melezza was located in the waters of Lake Maggiore, near Locarno, as per a police official. A sailor discovered the body in the water and promptly alerted the emergency services, setting off the alarm.
