The father of well-known real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, Surendra Kumar Agarwal, was mentioned in a Pune shootout case that was first reported to the Bund Garden police station and then moved to the CBI, according to media sources. In this case, the accused had even requested anticipatory bail.
The Agarwal family has been in the news since early Sunday morning when a young member is said to have driven his father’s Porsche while intoxicated and collided with a motorbike, killing two people in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar neighbourhood.
The Juvenile Justice Board granted bail to the teenager, but the police have arrested his father, Vishal Agarwal. However, this was not the family’s first legal case
Surendra Kumar Agarwal, Vishal’s 76-year-old father, was charged with conspiring with mobster Chhota Rajan (Rajendra Nikalje) to try the murder of Ajay Bhosale, a former Pune corporator who is currently the city president of the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde.
Corporator Ajay Bhosale was shot by two individuals in Koregaon Park in 2009 as he was out conducting an electoral campaign. He got away with it unharmed but his driver was injured in the shooting incident.

According to rumours, Vedant Agarwalโs grandfather Surendra Kumar Agarwal bribed Chhota Rajan to attack Ajay Bhosale as part of a property dispute. After the police were unable to identify the mastermind behind the corporator’s assassination attempt, the case was referred to the CID and subsequently the CBI.
But in 2020, the CBI claimed that SK Agarwal had paid Chhota Rajan for the attack and the builder had then applied to the Bombay High Court for anticipatory bail.
In addition to disclosing that he had filed a writ suit against the CID, Bhosale asked how SK Agarwal had been given anticipatory bail. โHow was anticipatory bail granted to him? He continues to appear in court. Justice should be served to all victims,โ he stated.
