Here we will shine the light on just how special Tom Brady is, how many Super Bowl rings, wins, appearances he has and his record
You don’t need to be an avid American Football fan to know the name Tom Brady but whether you follow the sport or not, it’s fair to say most won’t know everything about the man we deem to be the Greatest of all Time.
Tom Brady now owns these 15 Super Bowl records. Here we will shine the light on just how special Brady is with a look at some of Tom Brady’s Super Bowl records.
Tom Brady Super Bowl Record: Wins, Appearances, Rings And More
The most Super Bowl appearances
It might not be the most exciting place to start but it’s a pretty hard thing to ignore. Brady has made his way to a staggering 10 Super Bowls during his career. Only one team can eclipse that number of appearances in the showpiece game of the NFL season and that’s only because Brady carried the Patriots to most of them.
If you look at players, then the next closest to Brady’s 10 is Stephen Gostkowski who has six; if you’re not aware, he was a teammate of, yep, Tom Brady.
The most passing yards in Super Bowls
In itself, the fact that the man with the most Super Bowl appearances has the most passing yards in that game isn’t exactly a huge surprise. What makes this achievement really impressive is just how many yards Brady has racked up in the Super Bowl over the years. His count sits at 3,039 yards. That’s more than a fair few quarterbacks register in a season.
The most passing yards in a Super Bowl
If our previous record of having the most combined passing yards didn’t tickle your fancy in this Tom Brady love in then maybe this will. In addition to totting up the yards over the years, Brady also holds the Super Bowl record for throwing the most yards in a game. That record was set in Super Bowl LII as he flogged 505 yards.
Ridiculously, Brady was one failed pass away from eclipsing the most passing yards in a single game. That’s not where the passing yard appreciation stops though because guess who has the second most game passing yards in a Super Bowl…yep, Tom Brady. Kurt Warner with 414 is next closest.
Oldest quarterback to win a Super Bowl
A lot was made of Brady’s move to Tampa with many saying he had only set so many Super Bowl records because he’d been surrounded by quality at the Patriots. That’s not how things played out though because whilst the Patriots faltered, Brady flew in spite of his age. Come the big day, Brady was 43 years, six months and five days old. The legend rolled back the clock though and helped his team to glory.
The most Super Bowl wins
Oh come on, you knew it was going to end this way. You can’t run through a selection of Tom Brady’s Super Bowl records and not expect the fact he’s won it more times than anyone else to not come up. We’ve already touched on the fact that Brady has made the Super Bowl on 10 occasions and now we can confirm that he has won the thing a record breaking seven times. That is utterly insane.
We can prove it too. There are two teams that share the most Super Bowl wins; that honour belongs to the Patriots of New England and the Pittsburgh Steelers who have triumphed six times throughout their entire existence. Did you get that? These teams – yes, TEAMS – have won the Super Bowl fewer times than Tom Brady has.
There you have it, our look at just some of Tom Brady’s Super Bowl records. What a player. What does he still have up his sleeve?
