At approximately 11 a.m. 32-year-old Sofia Cheung was at Ha Pak Lai Park with her three friends when she fell to death while taking a picture. This incident took place on July 10, 2021.
Her last Instagram post read, “Better days are coming” and the post featured Cheung kneeling with a boogie board.
Sofia Cheung fell from sixteen feet into the Tsing Dai stream near Yuen Long, Hong Kong, when she and her friends were taking a photo at the edge of a waterfall. She was at Ha Pak Lai which is a popular hiking destination near Pineapple Mountain.
Cheung stumbled while taking the picture and “lost her footing.” Her friends immediately alerted the police and she was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, the hospital declared Sofia dead upon arrival. She shared an image on March 16 while hanging over a seaside landscape from the edge of a rock.
She wrote, “If you don’t try, you’ll never know” as the caption.
Cheung’s Instagram profile is full of her pictures in picturesque settings. She was frequent hiker and hiked through beautiful scenery. She also posed at a number of risky locations. All these pictures were captioned with inspirational quotes and messages. Her Instagram account is having more than 30k followers.
