The incident has left everyone shocked as police continue to investigate what exactly happened and the motive behind it.
Okechukwu Iweha
Okechukwu Iweha was a 46-year-old Nigerian man who was recently found stabbed to death in Haringey, North London, on Sunday. The shocking incident took place at the famous Northumberland Park, which is located just near English football club Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium. Notably, Iweha bled to death before the paramedics could arrive and take him to the hospital for treatment.
According to the latest reports, authorities have already informed Iwehaโs family that they are conducting a post-mortem exam. Once the reports come through, the authorities will release it later this week.
Police continue investigations
Meanwhile, authorities and detectives are still carrying out investigations into the stabbing and have yet to identify any suspects. They are still yet to make any arrests in connection with the incident, as there is hardly any evidence. Authorities have requested local residents to assist them with any information about the stabbing or to bring in any CCTV footage or other leads that could help them track down the perpetrators as soon as possible.
Tottenham Hotspur issues notice ahead of their game
Ahead of their game against Nottingham Forest last Sunday, the club posted an official statement clarifying that the match will go through despite the shocking incident. They stated that they are currently doing everything they can to accommodate the ongoing police investigation. The club further stated:
This afternoonโs Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest will go ahead as scheduled; however, the whole of Northumberland Park Road and Vicarage Road, as well as the north end of Worcester Avenue, will remain closed throughout.โ
