A young girl named Manvi passed away in Punjab recently after eating her birthday cake

Her family members are claiming that there was poison present in the chocolate cake which was consumed by Manvi.

After eating her birthday cake,  Manvi who hailed from Punjab passed away. Manvi who was just 10-year-old passed away from what is believed to be food poisoning in Punjab after consuming a cake on her birthday.

According to her grandfather Harban Lal, Manvi’s younger sister and the rest of her family were ill after consuming the cake which was ordered online from a bakery located in Patiala.

Just hours before Manvi passed away, the young child was seen in a video that has gone viral on social media. In the video, she was seen cutting cake and having fun with her family. Manvi had a big smile on her face.

This incident took place on March 24 at approximately 7:00 p.m. The family became ill at 10 PM the same night, and shortly after, 10 year old Manvi and her sister began throwing up. Manvi complained of dry mouth and was quite thirsty and kept on asking for drinking water. Her grandfather reported that she fell asleep after that.

Her condition deteriorated over night and the next morning; her family hurried her to the hospital where she was given oxygen. The staff at the hospital carried out her ECG (electrocardiogram) to check the rhythm of her heart. Her grandfather Harban Lal claimed that she was pronounced dead shortly after.

The family claims that they purchased a chocolate cake from “Cake Kanha” and it contained some kind of poison.

Action taken by authorities

The owner of the bakery has been the subject of a first information report (FIR). The body of Manvi underwent postmortem examination. Additionally, a cake sample has been sent for analysis. According to the police sources, “They are awaiting the reports.”

A case under Sections 273 and 304A of the IPC has been filed against the owner of the Cake Kanha bakery. Details about the arrests made in relation with this incident are not revealed yet.
