Who is Aarti Hamal?
After filing a missing person’s report, authorities initiated a search for Aarti Hamal, a 36-year-old who identifies as an Osho meditator and had been residing in Goa for several months before her disappearance. Referred to as Artusha Hamal Dhyan Leela on Facebook, she had been involved with the Osho Meditation Centre in Goa during her stay, according to The Himalayan Times.
Following Aarti’s disappearance, her father, in a previous post on X, mentioned her affiliation with Osho meditation and her residency in Goa. He disclosed receiving a message from her friend indicating a loss of contact since the day before. Seeking support from the local Goan community, he informed that his younger daughter, Arzoo, and son-in-law were enroute to Goa to aid in the search efforts.
Arzoo Hamal, the mayor’s younger daughter, took to Facebook to request friends and family not to contact her as she was traveling to Goa to search for her sister. She explained being in a car without phone charging capabilities and urged her contacts in Nepal to refrain from calling to conserve battery, as she wouldn’t be able to respond.
