The young student’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the university community, prompting a thorough investigation by local authorities who suspect the incident to be a case of suicide.
On Tuesday night, after dinner, Sai Reddy fell to his death. Whether the death was a suicide or an accident is unknown however it is being treated as a suicide as of now. After visiting the location, the Doddaballapur Rural police are looking into the incident.
The suicide by Dasari Brahma Sai Reddy marks the third tragic loss to befall Gitam University in a span of merely four months. Last February, the campus mourned the loss of Kare Manideep, another B.Tech student who tragically met his end in a horrific train accident.
In November 2023 when Mercy Anyango Odero, a Kenyan national and student of the university, succumbed to the silent battle of mental health.
The tragic incidents have reignited conversations surrounding the importance of mental health awareness and support services within academic institutions.
In Dasari Brahma Sai Reddy’s case, the authorities have not shared any suicide note with media so the official confirmation is pending. His family has also not given any statement yet.
