After the explosion at The Rameshwaram Cafe at 12:56 p.m. on March 1, the suspect Syed Shabbir was seen on CCTV arriving in Ballar, which is around 300 kilometres away from Bengaluru at 8:58 p.m. It was thought that the suspect had gone to Ballari to meet someone before taking a bus to Kalaburagi.

Additionally, the authorities believe that during the operation, the gang may have utilised encrypted communication or alternate identities instead of using mobile phones bearing their actual names. According to Bengaluru police sources, massive amounts of data are being analysed in an attempt to find any hints regarding the suspect’s conversations.

Previous incidents linked to the group, such as the Mangaluru cooker bomb blast and the Shivamogga bomb testing episode, offer valuable insights into the group’s operation.

Investigation

Key suspects like Abdul Matheen Taha and Musavir Hussain Shazib emerge as central figures in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. Their involvement in previous incidents and alleged ties to ISIS-inspired activities underscore the gravity of the investigation.

Despite the gravity of the incident, no group has claimed responsibility for the Rameshwaram Cafe blast. The absence of a clear perpetrator adds layers of complexity to the investigation, leaving authorities grappling with unanswered questions.
