The government of Punjab appointed the Vigilance Bureau Chief Siddharth Chattopadhyay as their new Director-General of the Police, DGP by replacing the IPS Iqbal Preet Sahota. It is reported by a press which releases news of the Department of the Home Affairs that now Siddharth is not serving as Punjab’s DGP with a third DGP taking over in the state in the time of three months.

In the year 2003, Chattopadhyay arrested Parkash Singh Badal in the case of corruption. Just a few years back Siddharth Chattopadhyaya was appointed as the head of a unique/special investigation team (SIT) by the Government of Punjab and Haryana High Court as well.
