The Tokyo Marathon is a yearly athletic marathon held in Japan’s capital city of Tokyo. It is one of the six World Marathon Majors and a World Athletics Platinum Label marathon.
The Tokyo Station is adjacent to the finish line of the marathon, which begins at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, or Tocho for short.

At the Tokyo Marathon in 2024, Eliud Kipchoge will lead a formidable field of competitors. His motivation comes from wanting to earn a fifth Olympic medal and going for a fifth straight victory.

Kipchoge, who set a track record on his final entry in March 2022, has returned to Japan after winning gold in the Olympics in Tokyo in 2021 while competing through the streets of Sapporo.
In what is expected to be an emotional occasion following the death of world record holder Kelvin Kiptum earlier in February, fellow Kenyans Vincent Kipkemoi Ngetich and Timothy Kiplagat are also scheduled to start the event. When and where is the Tokyo Marathon 2024 held?
On March 3, Tokyo will host the first World Marathon Major of the year. Five minutes after the wheelchair competitors get underway, the marathon will begin at 9.10 a.m. local time (12.10 a.m. GMT).
