The Association of PaddleSurf Professionals (APP) has announced the India Paddle Festival as part of their World Tour, check out the details of the event below along with the schedule
The India Paddle Festival is all set to be the country’s first-ever international stand-up paddling championship.

Amongst the notable participants, is Shuri Araki, the 17-year-old 4×SUP Japanese World Champion, who is also the youngest PaddleSurfer in history to win the world title at just 16 years old.

The upcoming festival will take place from March 8 to 10, 2024, ahead of the launch of the 2024 APP World Tour. The iconic Sasihithlu Beach, located in Mangalore, Karnataka, will host the upcoming event.

The festival aims to serve as the first step in an exciting new development journey. The event aims to bring about significant growth in the sport across India and its neighboring regions in the coming years. With Karnataka Tourism presenting the event and the Surfing Swami Foundation as its organizers, the festival will feature all the top athletes from the APP World Tour, along with other aspiring professionals from across the region.
APP World Tour announces India Paddle Festival
While announcing the championship in India, Tristan Boxford, the CEO of the APP World Tour, said:
We are extremely pleased to make our first entry into India with the Surfing Swami Foundation and Karnataka Tourism. We hope that the India Paddle Festival will help the sport get the much-needed push to expand in the region. This championship will also provide an opportunity for the athletes to experience an international competition.”
Meanwhile, Dhananjay Shetty, who is the director of the Surfing Swami Foundation, stated:
This is a very big step for surfing and SUP community in India as we are going to witness the first ever International SUP event in Mangaluru, on the west coast of the country. This event will definitely help our paddlers to gain valuable experience from seasoned athletes from the APP World Tour which will eventually contribute to their learning process.”
Meanwhile, Indian Rank 1, Sekar Patchai also shared how an international event like this would offer a chance for stand-up paddlers to learn from top international athletes and improve their skills and techniques.
