FC Juarez expressed their sorrow on Facebook, remembering Chavez for his exuberance, enthusiasm, simplicity, and commitment during his time with the team.
The club’s official statement conveyed, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our player Diego ‘El Puma’ Chávez in a car accident on February 14. Throughout his tenure with FC Juárez, El Puma exemplified joy, dedication, and a love for our colors.”
