In the midst of this, the city’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal went onto test positive for the virus with him taking to Twitter to ask people in close contact to self isolate. However, despite his comments, his close aides continued to hold rallies unabated across the country, something the CM himself was doing the last week.

Kejriwal was on a rampant rally spree, touring Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Goa with Twitter users noting how he had flouted all COVID protocols despite showing symptoms of being positive. The Delhi CM is seen coughing without a mask in public and organising colossal rallies in Chandigarh to celebrate his party’s win in the municipal elections.

Delhi meanwhile looks set to once again become the worst affected city in India as cases manifold and the positivity rate reaches over 8%. RTIs filed previously revealed how the Delhi government had not built a single new hospital in the city till 2019 with it also spending only a fraction of the funds released by the central government to it to combat the spread of COVID.
