Surajkund Mela significance
Named after the historic Surajkund lake, constructed by King Suraj Pal of the Tomar dynasty in the 10th century, the Surajkund Mela holds immense historical importance. The Haryana government initiated this international craft fair in February each year to boost tourism in the state. The event serves as a platform to showcase and celebrate India’s diverse art, culture, and heritage.
The focus of Surajkund Crafts Mela 2024 will be on showcasing the cultural essence of Gujarat, designated as the theme state for this year’s edition.
Surajkund Mela 2024 ticket prices
To make this cultural extravaganza accessible to all, the organizers have devised a ticket pricing structure. During weekdays (Monday to Friday), entry tickets are priced at ₹120, while on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), the cost is ₹180. Students from schools and colleges can avail a 50% discount on entry tickets during weekdays by presenting a valid ID card.
Additionally, senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and soldiers are also eligible for a 50% discount on entry tickets, making the Surajkund Mela an inclusive event for all.
