As the January transfer window deadline in 2024 closed, Armando Broja moved a few miles away to play for good neighbours Fulham for the balance of the current campaign, have a look at his salary and contract
Even if Chelsea was rumoured to be open to Broja leaving—on a permanent deal, no less—Chelsea still desperately needs some goal-scoring consistency from someone. However, since no one has offered to pay anywhere close to Chelsea’s alleged £50 million valuation, it seems that Chelsea has settled for merely a short-term agreement without any kind of exit clause or commitment.

Contract and salary details
The specifics of this agreement have not been fully disclosed by reports, but it appears that Fulham is paying Broja’s entire salary in addition to a £750k loan fee, which will be waived if the 22-year-old plays in at least half of the team’s remaining games this season. The deal is reportedly for over £4 million, plus further compensation. However, the exact salary of the player is not known yet.
The striker earned 40,000 pounds weekly at Chelsea.
The 22-year-old went through a physical yesterday, and Fulham will pay a loan fee of £4 million ($5.1 million) for him. According to one source, if the Albanian international makes ten starts for Fulham, the loan cost will be waived. In any case, it’s a wonderful idea to have an incentive linked to appearances (or starts), but it would be much better if it was based on minutes.
Wolves and West Ham were open to getting Broja permanently
Wolves and West Ham have expressed interest in signing Broja, who has been judged surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea’s demand for a permanent transfer and a £50 million ($63.7 million) value initially turned away all of the interested parties. On the morning of deadline day, Chelsea withdrew their demands, saying they would approve a loan move in exchange for a £5 million ($6.4 million) payment, which Fulham later lowered after lengthy negotiations between the two clubs.
Under Mauricio Pochettino, Broja has struggled to find his best form, with only three goals in 38 Chelsea appearances. Due to a knee injury, the Albanian international missed six games in October and November. Since Chelsea defeated Preston 4-0 in the FA Cup third round on January 6, he has not scored.
After Aleksandar Mitrovic left for Al Hilal in August, Fulham’s offensive has struggled this season. In 22 Premier League games, Marco Silva’s club has only managed 28 goals; among the top 13 teams, only Manchester United (24) has scored fewer goals.
