The suspect, 33 year old Justin Mohn, had 115 subscribers on his YouTube channel when he uploaded a 14-minute video titled “Mohn’s Militia: Call to Arms for American Patriots” just before he was arrested.
He claimed to be a federal official while displaying his father’s severed head to the camera in the video, identified as 68 year old Michael “Mike” Mohn. He then launched into a hate-filled tirade about federal employees, claiming they should all be put to death and claiming he killed his father because he worked for the government.
Although Justin Mohn claimed that his father had twenty years of federal employment, Heavy discovered that neither Mike nor Michael Mohn’s names are included in the federal employee database.

According to reports, Michael F. Mohn was the proprietor of two businesses, M & D Cleaning Products and Power Writers, which Heavy discovered were recorded in the state of Pennsylvania’s company registration database. Additionally, Heavy stated that the address on file for the business corresponded with the address at which the murder took place in the 100 block of Upper Orchard Drive.
The victim was married to Denice Mohn, according to the obituary for Mike Mohn’s father, Stanley Mohn. Justin Mohn was one of Stanley Mohn’s grandchildren who was mentioned in the obituary.

As per several accounts, the accused individual had filed multiple lawsuits against the government, claiming ignorance of the fact that taking out school loans did not ensure employment. After a judge determined that his parents contributed to the student loan repayment, the lawsuit was eventually dropped.
According to reports, the suspect filed a fourth lawsuit against the United States in 2023 when it was revealed that the country had allowed him to take out a loan for college “without advising him he may not find satisfactory work as an overeducated white man almost ten years later.”
He eventually relocated to Colorado, according to the lawsuit, to take a full-time job with a credit union. He took a full-time position with an insurance business, and the lawsuit continued. According to his since-deleted Facebook page, he was a Colorado Springs resident.
