It’s a record eighth title for the boys in blue who annihilated Sri Lanka in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup on Friday, 31st December by 9 wickets via the DLS method. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first but could only manage to set a target of 109/9 within the amended limit of 38 overs. Thanks to the DLS method, the target was further reduced to that of 102 off 38 overs which India chased with ease in just 21.3 overs.

What an innings by opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi (56 not out) who scored an impressive half-century. And how can we not credit his partnership with Shaik Rasheed who’s unbeaten 31 along with Raghuvanshi’s 56 helped India seal the deal with a third straight title triumph.
India’s left-arm spinner Vicky Otswal put up a great show with his figures of 3/11 and at the same time off-spinner Kaushal Tambre picked up two wickets. Sri Lanka’s Yasiru Rodrigo (19) and Raveen De Silva (15) were the highest run-getters for their imperfect side at the Dubai International Stadium.
