Brown, the opener for Brisbane Heat, scored a brilliant 140 off 57 balls which is his highest score in an incredible show of power hitting, propelling his team to the BBL 13 final on Monday. After he hit a brilliant century, Brown put the Adelaide Strikers bowlers through their paces and led the Heat to 214 for 7.
As the Heat easily defeated the Strikers by 54 runs at Carrara Stadium, he blasted 12 sixes and 10 boundaries during his spectacular 140 (57), the third-highest performance in BBL history. He struck the most sixes of any batter in a BBL innings with 12 during his knock against the Adelaide Strikers. The previous record, held by Chris Gayle, Craig Simmons, and Chris Lynn (twice), was 11 sixes.
Brisbane Heat advanced to the final on February 4, 2023, against Perth Scorchers thanks to Brown’s constant play at the top of the batting order throughout the remainder of the 2022–2023 Big Bash.

Josh bowls at a medium tempo with his right arm and is a right-handed batsman. The 30-year-old made his List A debut for Queensland against New South Wales on February 26, 2023, during the 2022–2023 Marsh One-Day Cup.
Brown played football until he was thirteen. He took cricket seriously only when he was twenty-three, and in just eighteen months, he went from playing third grade to the Queensland Second XI.
In 2019, he participated in club cricket in England, playing for Histon in the Cambridge and Hunts Premier League. He currently plays grade cricket for the Northern Suburbs District Cricket Club too.
