Tonantzyn Oris Beltran, a native of California, is currently in custody without bail, accused of fatally stabbing her mother, Olivia Beltran Pacheco, in an incident broadcast on Facebook Live with the livestream video now viral

The tragic event unfolded on Monday, January 8, around 5 p.m., when San Rafael police responded to a reported fight and stabbing at the Cresta Way apartment complex.

Upon arrival, they discovered Olivia Beltran, 55, with multiple stab wounds. Tonantzyn, found holding a knife beside her mother on the balcony, was subsequently charged with murder.

Before the alleged stabbing, Tonantzyn Oris Beltran had posted videos on social media featuring her mother. In one video, Olivia urged her daughter to “calm down and stay grounded,” adding a message about concern for the Palestinian people.

Chillingly, Tonantzyn reportedly assured her mother, “I promise you will sleep tonight… indefinitely.” Following the incident, Olivia Beltran was transported to the hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

The Facebook Live video capturing the alleged stabbing has since been removed by Meta.

Sandra Beltran initiated a GoFundMe campaign titled “In loving memory of Olivia Beltran” to raise funds for Olivia’s funeral. Sandra described Olivia as a “beautiful, strong & proud indigenous woman” who dedicated herself to advocating for justice and creating a welcoming community.

The funds raised would also support Olivia’s daughter, Tonatiuh, who faces a challenging journey. At the time of writing, the campaign had garnered $31,474 toward its $50,000 goal, with the highest donation of $1000 made by Johnny Nguyen.

The San Rafael Police Department’s press release disclosed that 28-year-old Tonantzyn Oris Beltran was arrested and charged with murder. During the arrest, she reportedly did not readily respond to officers’ commands.

Additionally, it was mentioned that Tonantzyn Oris Beltran had recently faced other charges, though the details remained unclear at the time of writing. Law enforcement continues to investigate the murder, seeking to uncover Tonantzyn Oris Beltran’s motive for the alleged stabbing by delving into her background history.
