In a bid to recompense for the lack of matches last year sport’s governing council has asked countries to partake in all formats concurrently. After England were engaged in the akin schedule last year, the Indian cricket team has been asked to do the same for 2021.

Where a Virat Kohli lead team will be touring England for the WTC final 2021 and then a five match test series with England, another side will be going to Sri Lanka for red ball cricket. Speculated to be lead by either Shikhar Dhawan or Hardik Pandya, this side is currently scouring for its coach.
Rahul Dravid India Coach: BCCI Offers Rahul Dravid Coach’s Role
With Ravi Shashtri to be at the helm for India’s test matches, the BCCI is said to have offered Rahul Dravid the coaching role for the Sri Lanka series. And Rahul Dravid is said to be currently deliberating over whether he wants to take over the reigns of the team with a decision likely soon.
Should Dravid decide to accept BCCI’s offer, it will be his second stint with the national team. Dravid was India’s batting consultant on an England tour before taking over as India A and U-19 coach in.
He went onto lift the U-19 World Cup in 2018. Dravid has also been credited for his avid eye when it comes to unearthing talented players with him having heralded the growth of Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Mayank Agarwal, Rishabh Pant
He is currently at the head of the NCA, a role he was serenaded with in 2019. His tutelage and expertise are the driving force behind the BCCI wanting him to spearhead the Indian side for its ODI and T20 series in Sri Lanka.
