Have a look at the husband, father and family of Sameena Dalwai
Sameena Dalwai, a professor at Jindal University, “is being persecuted for her Muslim identity and her political beliefs by people who define India with a narrow, ignorant lens,” according to a letter signed by over 500 academics showing support for Dalwai in the face of trolling and a formal complaint.

In an attempt to analyze the language used in dating profiles, Dalwai launched a dating app and projected it onto a screen on September 23 during a lecture on sexuality and desire. But because their friends’ profiles were on the screen as well, some students reportedly found this practice uncomfortable. In response to the students’ protests, she closed the app.
Her mother, Shama Dalwai, is a Saraswat Brahmin, and her father, Husain Dalwai, is a Muslim from Konkan and they were both socialists who belonged to the Yuvak Kranti Dal, a young people and students’ socialist organisation in the 1970s.
She was raised in Mumbai amid a group of people who were socialist activists and has a brother as well. Her brother married a Chinese girl from Hainan and she married a Telangana Reddy. They both had biological children, and she also adopted a little girl from Nagaland.
Sameena Dalwai is a Professor of law at Jindal Global Law School and has a PhD.
A few weeks after political scientist Achin Vanaik’s lecture on the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict caused a stir, excerpts from Dalwai’s dating seminar also appeared on social media. Zionism is “not anti-Muslim,” whereas Hindutva is “fundamentally and foundationally anti-Muslim and anti-Islamic,” according to Vanaik, who made this distinction in his address.
A screenshot of an email that Dalwai sent to other faculty members defending Vanaik’s talk later went viral as well. She had mentioned in her email that “right-wing” professors and students were planning their “own events” and that “Jai Shri Ram” slogans were being yelled at on campus.
The Haryana Police filed a first information complaint on December 22, accusing Dalwai of violating women’s dignity and treating pupils unfairly due to their beliefs and religion.
Vanaik, author Nivedita Menon, historians Tanika Sarkar and Ramachandra Guha, lecturers Nandini Sundar and Niraja Jayal, and attorney Lawrence Liang are among the signatories to the letter. It also comprises a sizable number of Jindal University academic members.
What did the academicians state in the letter?

The academicians accused the Haryana Women’s Commission of holding the professor guilty and creating a media circus in their letter after the commission saw the lecture footage and launched a probe. According to the group, the panellists visited the campus, solicited feedback from students without the administration’s presence, and then rendered a verdict that found Dalwai guilty.
The statement read, “Confidential university documents were posted on social media, emotive language replaced logic, and Twitter posts became evidence.” It further said that the entire process demonstrated vile political intent and complete disrespect for the law.
The group expressed their concern about the university’s failure to follow the proper procedures to determine the veracity of Dalwai’s accusations. It stated, “Jindal University has set a damning precedent for future attacks on academic freedom by giving in to political pressure.” Academicians further expressed their dismay when conversations about politics or sexuality are perceived as demeaning to women or as biased toward students.
The organization stated that they believed she was being persecuted for her political beliefs and Muslim identity by people who define India through a narrow, ignorant lens. They further demanded the State of Haryana’s relevant authorities, particularly the police and judiciary, put an end to this vicious witch hunt.
