Himachal Pradesh has won their maiden title as they beat domestic giants Tamil Nadu by 11 runs at the Savai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday, December 26th. It was opening batsman Shubham Arora who played a major role in guiding his side to a memorable victory with an impeccable 136 off 131 deliveries.

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 Final Score Himachal Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu

Requiring to track a target of 315 in 50 overs did not seem hard at all for Rishi Dhawan’s men as they managed to reach 299 for 4 in just 47.3 overs, eventually getting declared as winners of the match via the VJD method. As for Tamil Nadu, it’s worth commending their senior wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik’s performance as he hit an impressive 116 off 103 deliveries in order to set what would seem like a far-fetched target for Himachal Pradesh.

Baba Indrajith’s 80 off 71 deliveries is also what helped Tamil Nadu put up a respectable target but the rest of the players under captain Vijay Shankar were just able to set the motion and defend the target. Although Tamil Nadu’s bowlers were able to dismiss Prashant Chopra (21), Digvijay Rangi (0), Nikhil Gangta (18) in the middle overs, it was Amit Kumar’s 74 and Rishi Dhawan’s 42* that set the seal on Himachal Pradesh’s big maiden title win.
