Sidney Waddell was an English sports commentator and television personality who was born on from 10 August 1940 in Alnwick, England.
He attended Morpeth Grammar School after attending Ellington County Primary School, where he was a standout student in the English and history departments. He received a scholarship to attend Cambridge’s St. John’s College in 1958.
It was decided to rename the PDC World Darts Championship trophy the Sid Waddell trophy from 2013 when he passed away.
