While Everton have since failed to issue an update on the player, Sigurdsson has completely vanished off the face of the Earth. Reports state Everton have provided him with a safehouse where he’s currently housed with his family with his wife going onto delete of trace of herself on social media platforms after the news first broke.
Apparently Sigurdsson has now been granted a three month extension on his bail with him set to stay out of jail for the imminent time as well. The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) had previously revealed that an Everton player’s home was subjected to a raid in July after which he was arrested and then released on bail pending investigations.
Football Insider has now gone onto reveal that Everton are said to be wanting to offload 32 year old Sigurdsson once his contract wraps up next year. The Icelandic player will run his race at the club at the end of the ongoing 2021-22 Premier League campaign with Everton extremely eager to clear the books of his staggering 120,000 pound salary.
There is yet to be an official statement on if Sigurdsson is really the player who is being investigated on charges of sexual assault and relations with underage girls, a charge his wife denied.
