In a close match between India and Pakistan, Manpreet Singh’s team emerged victorious, defeating arch-rivals 4-3 to clinch third at the Asian Champions Trophy 2021. India gained the lead early in the game, but Pakistan quickly fought back, with the first half concluding with a one-goal tie. Pakistan then started the second half on a high note, gaining a one-goal lead, but India came back in the last quarter to win the game in dramatic fashion. India also earned the bronze medal at the ACT 2021 as a result of this.

India got out to a flying start, earning four consecutive penalty corners less than a minute into the game, and drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh converted on the final attempt to put the defending champions up in the first quarter.
Arfraz Ahmed took advantage of an India defensive blunder in the 11th minute to cancel out Harmanpreet’s eighth goal of the tournament. In the third quarter, they took a surprising lead when Abdul Rana completed a routine tap-in to put his team ahead in the 33rd minute.
However, India drew level 12 minutes later through Sumit, who took advantage of the pandemonium in front of the Pakistan goal to score.
Manpreet Singh, India’s captain, was chosen player of the match.
