Dan Ashworth played in the Norwich City youth system before moving to St. Leonards and playing non-league football with Eastbourne Town. After making the switch to football administration, Ashworth moved to Cambridge United as the center of excellence director after serving as the academy director at Peterborough United in 2000. Dan Ashworth played a key role in developing the “England DNA” for player development when he was appointed FA head of elite development in 2012. In 2018, he was connected to the role of technical director at Manchester United. But in 2019, he left the FA and became the Technical Director of Brighton & Hove Albion.
